The practice telephone lines are open between 08:00 – 18:30 for general enquiries, ordering medication and booking appointments.

Our doors close at 18:00. Appointments are available at times within the hours of 08:30 – 17:50, some telephone appointments might be later than these hours.

In cases of emergency when the surgery is closed. Please call NHS 111 for assistance. Please only call this number if your problem cannot wait until the next available surgery.

What is NHS 111?
NHS111 is available 24 hours day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year . This service is a fast and easy way of getting the right help, anywhere and anytime.

If your surgery is open you should ring you GP Practice first. However, if you need advice or to speak to a trained person NHS111 is there for you.

Calls from landlines and mobiles are free if the call is made directly. If you are diverted through the Surgery you may be charged for the call.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Accident and Emergency
Please only attend Accident & Emergency if you have a genuine Emergency that needs Hospital attention. Everyday A&E see patient’s unnecessarily, who should have seen or could wait to see their GP. Patients with Coughs, colds urine infections that could be treated by a Pharmacist or one of the other out of hours services. A&E is not the place for repeat prescriptions, travel injections, referrals or questions about medical conditions that you had for some time unless the condition has changed.

Sometimes the GP or practice staff will advise you to go to A&E as it felt that this is the best place for you to be treated. A&E should be used for Chest pain, shortness of breath or anything else you constitute to be an emergency.

GP appointments at an out of hours hub will be available between 8am and 8pm on the bank holiday, and remain available every normal weekday evening between 6.30pm and 10pm.

You can book these appointments by calling the GP hubs booking hotline on 020 3770 1888 (open from 8am to 8pm) or by calling 111 any time. You can also get help with minor injuries and illnesses at our community Urgent Treatment Centres at Barking Community Hospital and Harold Wood Polyclinic. These are open 8am to 9pm, seven days a week. You can call NHS 111 to book an appointment or walk in and wait to be seen.

You do not need to be registered with a GP.

If you feel unwell or have a minor injury, your local pharmacy can offer advice and some medicines. This can help you treat your condition yourself at home.
